2025–2026 Volleyball Tryouts

Borinquen Volleyball Academy is excited to welcome new and returning athletes for our upcoming 2025–2026 Club Volleyball Season. Whether you're stepping on the court for the first time or ready to level up your skills, our tryouts are open to all players across Southern Maryland.

How to register

To participate in tryouts, follow the steps below:

Step 2Register for BVA Tryouts Online- Complete online registration. - Pay $50 by Oct 25 / $60 after Oct 25. - Fee is non-refundable but applied toward club dues if you join. - Confirm your Age Definition (cutoff is July 1st).Online registration receipt (digital)
Step 3Complete Medical Release Form- Download and print the USA Volleyball Medical Release Form. - Fill it out completely. - Must be signed by parent/guardian.Medical Release Form (signed hard copy)

GUIDELINES

  • Playing ages are determined by the official USAV Age Definitions.
  • Players should register for tryouts in their appropriate age group.
  • Players may request to try out with their peer group (one age up, but within their school grade).
  • Coaches reserve the right to move players or combine age groups based on evaluations and team needs.

- Some teams may extend official and alternate offers to players at the regularly scheduled testing session.
- If no slots remain, the makeup/callback session will be cancelled. Best chance: attend your team’s regular tryout.

If no update is posted, the session will proceed as scheduled.
Open Tryout PeriodDefined as the days when:
- Players may try out with no obligation to commit.
- Clubs cannot require a commitment.
- Clubs may extend offers in writing (dated, email or hard copy). - Offers cannot be rescinded until the end of the period or until declined by the player.
Offer Guidelines1. Offers guarantee a roster spot until the end of the Open Tryout Period.
2. Players may accept earlier if they choose.
3. After the period closes, offers and commitments proceed with no grace period.
Player Responsibilities- Respond promptly when certain of your decision.
- Avoid holding more than two active offers.
- If a third offer is received, narrow your choices to your best two.
- Declining promptly allows clubs to extend offers to other players.

FAQ

No! We welcome all skill levels. Tryouts include basic skills evaluation and drills suitable for beginners and experienced athletes alike.

Generally, athletes should try out within their age group. Requests to try out for a higher division must be approved by our coaching staff.

Tryout fees are non-refundable but are applied to your club dues if you accept a spot on a team.
